Raise The Roof Music Concert

Real Hope, a registered UK charity (NIC 102220) founded in 2015, is based in Brasov, Romania. Run by Marian Moisevici (who is Romanian) and Barbara Moisevici (originally from Templepatrick, Co. Antrim),
Real Hope cares for and supports vulnerable children and adults within the orphanage system, to those who have previously been in state care and to those who find themselves in difficult or dangerous situations.

The next step for Real Hope is to build a roof over the containers on the farm, which will be a big improvement to the living accommodation for the boys by providing them with a communal room. In order to start this project, I and seven others from Ireland are travelling to Brasov in September 2024 to literally ‘raise the roof’. The team includes men with experience in construction.

The cost of this building project will be around €18,000. To this end, team members are holding fundraising events including coffee mornings, car washes, BBQs, stalls selling Romanian pottery and crafts.

The most high-profile fundraising event, to be held on 28 July 2024, is a Dublin Gospel Choir concert in St Catherine’s Church, Thomas Street, Dublin. The concert will be called ‘Raise the roof’.
