Our Story
Our History
St. Catherine's Church, on Thomas Street, in Dublin, Ireland, was originally built in 1185. It is located on what was once termed the "Slí Mhór" (Irish: Great Way), a key route that ran westwards across Ireland from Dublin. The church was rebuilt in its present form in the 18th century by John Smyth.
The church closed in 1966 due to a decrease in the size of the local congregation. The church was de-consecrated the following year, and for a period was used by Dublin Corporation for exhibitions and concerts. After a period of decline, and later of refurbishment, St. Catherine's was re-consecrated and has been our place of worship as a community since the late 1990’s.
We’re very privileged to carry on the baton of being a light to the city and creating a space where God can be met and encountered by all walks of life.

A little about us now….
Located on the corner of Thomas Street in the heart of the Liberties,
Saint Catherine’s Church could be described as a community of people committed to practicing the way of Jesus together, in the power of the spirit.
Gathering in a variety of ways, with something for every-age, our pursuit is to learn what it means to apprentice under Jesus, and bring hope and light to the world around us.
